Saturday Dinner with Grandma's and Grandpa

A.J. is in Michigan this weekend, so it is just the girls and I!
Saturday night, we picked G-Ma up, and headed to my parent's house for dinner. The girls had a blast doing crafts and making a mess. They also enjoyed have both Grandma's avaiable to entertain them... Thanks MOM's.
Thankfully, it was a great night to hang outside!

Sisters

Each day is amazing...watching my sweet girls grow together.

Sometimes I wonder, how can two kids be soooo different, yet so alike?

Yesterday, as they played, I took a moment to capture them...

Girls Day Out

On Sunday, my mom and I took the girls on a little adventure. We went to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. It was a fantastic day with gorgeus weather. The Arboretum has beautiful gardens, and a very special children's garden! The girls had a great time exploring all that the gardens had to offer. They even had a huge tree house, and fun slides. Ella's favorite part was the area that had the water gardens that you could walk (or hop) through. I highly recommend this attraction to anyone not afraid of spending alot of time outside. Enjoy the pics.

4th of July

Yesterday was the 4th! It was AJ and my 15 year anniversary...crazy to think about! We did have a wonderful morning, as we all headed to my parent's for the 4th Parade and a day of sun
at Grandma & Grandpa's pool! Ella was very excited to see that Grandma had decked out there bikes in Red, White and Blue decorations. Ella's was even complete with a HUGE TY teddy bear that had a flag on his chest (he was perched at the top of her bike...). We all walked over to the parade and had a great time. When we got back to Grandma's, Kaitlyn's eye was swelling up. It occured to us that she had been bitten by a mosquito the evening before. Within the next hour, it was very puffy and purple. AJ went to get her some Benadryl at the store, and we gave it to her right away. Of course, she went down for a nap rather easily after that. By the time she woke up, her eye was swollen to a slit and her face was puffy and purple. Then, she began crying and was very inconsolable. This went on for 30 minutes, and I paged our pediatrician. Of course, they asked us to come in right away! Kaitlyn screamed the entire way to the ER, and at one point was so exhausted, she stopped, turned her head, and closed her eyes. Of course, I was very scared. I ended up having to unbuckle her seat and wake her up. We got to the ER and they saw her right away... The Dr. explained that this year's mosquito's have a pretty bad venom in comparison to previous years, and he of course made mention of West Nile Virus. We made it out of there in under 2 hours! She will be fine with some Benadryl and ice packs... we will then need to follow up with the Dr. about possible allergies to some insects. Uncle Sean is severely allergic to bees, so we do worry abot that as well. Kaitlyn's eye is much better today!!!

Good 'ole summer time

We have been having a pretty good summer. The girls are having a great time being outside almot everyday! We have had a pretty busy past month, and I know that I am way behind on "blogging". I am know finding that it is most reasonable for me to be adding a post every few weeks...so here it is.

A few weeks ago, I was hospitalized overnight with a ruptured ovarian cyst, and that put me out of commission for the better part of a week. No fun being ill, especially when you have children (and a husband) to care for! I am all healed, and back to normal.

Ella finished up her first session of camp, and is looking forward to the next session beginning next week. She has made some sweet new friends and loves going to her "school". It is nice, because her camp is in the same classroom as where her preschool will be in the fall, and the schedule is the same as well (Tuesday, Thursday 9-11 am).

I am very blessed that AJ's mom is caring for the girls, and that they get to enjoy their summer with someone who really loves them and plans great activites. Ella loves telling me about the adventures they go on. The other day they went to the beach right by G-Ma's and saw small "Sunfish" sailboats...

G-Ma also teaches Ella all about fun things like seagulls, and birds (which Ella names when she sees them) This week, everything is a Hummingbird :)

I have included some random photos of our summer.
