Saturday Night

After Milla's party, we came home, and the girls played outside!

We then decided to have an impromptu BBQ with our dear friend's/neighbors: Aaron, Shara, Aidan, Everett & Audrey.

The kids really had a great time,

and it was great to have some adult interaction as well.

After we all put the kids to bed, we ended up sitting on our back patio and talking for 2 hours!!! (Thanks to the technology of baby monitors, and for the fact that both of the kids windows were directly above our heads:)

It was so nice, and we can't wait untill the really nice weather arrives.

Catching up...

It was a wild and crazy weekend here at the Satenstein household.

Friday night was spent at home and catching up on chores.
Saturday was a fun day for us! We first got up and went to Ella's friend's Milla's 3rd Birthday party. It was at a great indoor amusement place called GO BANANAS! The kids had a great time, mommy & daddy too. Kaitlyn and AJ even played the buckets game together.

NEW Cozies

The girls were so excited tonight putting on their new, matching "cozies".

You could see by Kaitlyn's little smirk that she loved wearing the same thing as her big sissy.... Notice the red cheeks on both girls? They enjoyed the park and long walk with G-ma today! Woo-hoo, could spring really be here?

Kaitlyn's Birthday Weekend

Saturday kicked off Miss Kaitlyn's FIRST Birthday celebration. Saturday was spent dodging the lovely Chicago rain. Our weekly trip to Target turned into quite the adventure. Once we finally had gotten to Target and got situated, Ella says..."mommy, I have to go potty...NOW". That was a severely close call. But, we are so very proud of Miss Ella and how well she has been doing with "outings". So, after the potty trip, we made it all the way back to where we had been before the potty break, and I hear over the loud speaker that there is a silver mini van in the parking lot, with an open door!!! So, naturally, we dropped everything, and ran out to the car (IN THE RAIN), to close the door. Luckily, I had parked close enough to the main entrance, and was able to just use my key to close the door. Whew....back into Target to complete our two hour shopping trip....

After Target, we went home for nap time.

Saturday evening we met Grandma and Grandpa, along with Auntie Ursula at Hackney's for dinner. We all had a great night chatting and catching up.

SUNDAY ...Kaitlyn's birthday!

Kaitlyn started her BIG DAY with a bang at the comfy hour of 6 am today! She was awake and ready to roll. Her and I went downstairs to "allow" daddy and Ella to get some more rest. Ella later came down, and after breakfast, we ended up having bath time at 7:15 am!!! Happy Birthday Kaitlyn....:)

The girls were so excited that G-Ma was coming for dinner in celebration of KK's b-day.

So, we spent most of the day cleaning and organizing for new toys....

G-Ma came for a yummy dinner...Miss Birthday girl was sooo tired, that she was actually crying right before her cake arrived in front of her. She ended up opening gifts (OK, Ella opened them!), and tried a little cake!!! She shocked us by actually digging in...and got sooo mad when we yanked it away from her. Look closely and you will see her Big sister digging in too!!!

Musical Chairs

Kaitlyn & Ella are becoming better sisters and best "buddies". Here they are playing musical chairs. They were keeping each other highly amused by switching chairs. It truly is such a blast to see them interact more as they get older. Let's just hope that it stays amusing for the most part....LOL

Friday Afternoon

This was a very busy weekend for us!

Friday, one of Ella's favorite friends came over to play! Milla and Ella are two weeks apart, and really have a great time together. Milla's baby brother Blake & Kaitlyn enjoyed watching each other too:)

JUST in time

Just in time for Kaitlyn's big day...SHE is walking. It is safe to say that within this next week or so, Kaitlyn will be walking all over the place. Ella keeps yelling "mommy, daddy, KK's walking!!!, I'm so excited..." Too cute. Kaitlyn has succesfully walked over 3 feet all by herself.

I just can't believe how many changes have occurred within the past few weeks:

• Ella is truly, 100% day time potty trained...even choosing to wear undies to her little "mommy & me" class for the past two weeks.
• Last night she woke up yelling, "mommy, I have to go potty!". I was sure that she was dreaming, but, when I went into her room, she did have to go potty. As a matter of fact, her diaper was dry. So, I took her to the potty....this morning when she woke up...DRY DIAPER. We couldn't believe it!
• Kaitlyn is now on sippy cups of milk....no more formula, and rare bottles.
• and, now the walking!!!

Woo-Hoo!!!!

Monday

Only a few days untill Kaitlyn is ONE! Hooray....Today, she made her first "drawing"....LOL

Take a close look at Ella's leg...had another "accident" yesterday. She kept running up and down the block, and we kept tellinh her to not run. So, of course, she wiped out! Even had a real bloody nose to match her skinned knees, and skinned FACE...from her forehead and nose.

Ella just completed a lovely picture, and daddy asked her who she would sent it to, and she promptly replied "To auntie 'Stina" aka: Auntie Kristina.

Sunday already?

WOW! Sunday already? We had a wonderful weekend outside. Today, we met Grandma and Baggas (Ella's name for Grandpa) for breakfast! Ella made it all the way to breakfast, through, and home again....NO accidents:) Woooo hooooo. Even used the potty (yuck) at the restaurant. Her new "Diego" potty covers are miracle workers...LOL...

She insisted upon wearing her pink boots.....

Spring has sprung...

IT has been a while....but, after recieving some recent requests for pics and updates, we have decided THIS is the way to go.

The girls had a great Easter...loved the egg hunt and OF COURSE, their baskets...

WE enjoyed being outside for a large portion of today! Ella loves riding her tricycle, and miss Kaitlyn loves riding (being pushed) in her car. The girls both got haircuts today! Kaitlyn's 1st!

*****BIG NEWS: Ella is almost completely potty trained!!! WOO-HOO...One week ago Friday we decided to try "cold turkey"...no diapers, except for nap/bedtime. So far, it has been way less painful than we had thought.

Ohhhhh...the things we get excited about as parents:)

One week untill Kaitlyn is ONE...1.....ONE... & 4 weeks untill Ella is THREE ...time really does fly
